| Varenicline – Chantix |
Varenicline-Chantix or Varenicline Tartrate (Chantix is the
brand name) is the first of its kind anti-smoking medication
designed and manufactured by Pfizer Inc. of the United States. The
company received the official approval of the drug from the Food and
Drug Administration-FDA on 11th of May 2006 in almost a decade. The
drug is believed to provide better substitute especially to those
who literally depend on nicotine based patches or gums to accustom
them from their nicotine hanker enabling them to quit smoking.
Varenicline Generic – Chantix Brand by Pfizer for Smoking Cessation
Varenicline is supposed to take the different approach to
the problem of nicotine addiction. This wonder drug is designed to
stimulate the brain to discharge smaller doses of dopamine which is
considered to be diminishing the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal.
The drug also blocks the nicotine receptors in the brain so that if
the user yields to temptation and start smoking, the warm fuzzes the
user feel would not be almost as warm or fuzzy as he is used to them
being.
The concept behind this latest quit smoking medication is that the
charm of smoking a cigarette is gone, the smoker’s craving of going
out and spending on his smoking quota too is thus saved. The
medication has been shown restricting the weight gain which very
often accompanies the smoker’s efforts to give up smoking. It has
also been confirmed that the chances of reversion during the first
six months after giving up to smoke is radically diminished when the
smoker is undergoing the Varenicline-Chantix treatment. The drug
works in the different way and has been proven to produce more
effective results.
